Residents Grateful, Swadarma PHB Channel's Retaining Wall Elevated

Residents appreciate repair and elevating work on Swadarma connecting (PHB) channel retaining wall at Bintaro Permai Settlement, Pesanggrahan Urban Village, Pesanggrahan, South Jakarta. Previously, residents very worried of landslide since this retaining wall has been broken for a long time.

Pesanggrahan Urban Village RW 08 Head, Joko Purnomo mentioned, this channel passes 13 RTs of the settlement. Four RTs are often inundated due to overflowing water from Swadarma PHB channel when the heavy rain falls.

"Thanks to God, South Jakarta SDA Sub-dept. has repaired and elevated the retaining wall. Hopefully there is no inundation in this settlement when the heavy rain falls," he expressed, Thursday (11/22).

Retaining Wall Repair on Jalan Kramat Tiu Completed

According to him, almost every week residents clean channels in this settlement together. It is done to prevent trash and mud from blocking water flow.

"We also clean small channels that lead directly to PHB during communal work," he stated.

Pesanggrahan Sub-district Head, Fadjar Churniawan stated, retaining wall which is elevated and becomes a levee has four-meter height from PHB channel's water level.

"Hopefully this could prevent inundation, especially in RT 03, 04, 11, and 12. The point is, all locations prone to inundation have been handled," he explained.
