BPK Penabur Students to Be Relocated

Post fire incident happened in BPK Penabur Christian School, Central Jakarta, Saturday (8/9), as many as 600 students will be relocated to other school. At this time, the school’s teaching and learning activities are dismissed until three days ahead while the relocation place is being prepared.

Responding this matter, Head of Central Jakarta Elementary Education Sub-Department, Sujadiyono, said that his department is ready to help BPK Penabur school party to look for temporary location.

“We’re ready to help. However, the location that we provided is not as good as BPK Penabur original school. Well, we all know the difference of private school with state school,” he stated, Monday (8/11).

School Days Will Be Until Saturday Again

Based on the data owned by his department, Sujadiyono informed there are several rooms in BPK Penabur school got burned in the fire. Among those rooms are four elementary school (SD) rooms and three supporting rooms which all located on the third floor. Because of this incident, students from kindergarten (TK), SD, and senior high (SMA) lost their classrooms.

“Relocation place for SMA students is in Gunung Sahari, SD students on Jalan Saman, and TK students on Jalan Saman and in Budi Penabur 1 school,” he uttered.

Meanwhile, BPK Penabur Principal, Santy, is reluctant to comment on the school’s relocation plan. She also refused to disclose the cause of the fire.
