The discussion was attended by officials from RTs/RWs, urban villages, sub-districts, East Jakarta Public Works Sub-Department, Jakarta Public Works Department, Jakarta Environmental Management Agency (BPLHD), as well as public figures and city council members.

East Jakarta Administration Assistant for Development and Environment, Andriansyah, said that environment impact analysis is very important to be discussed before a project’s physical construction project is started due to problems related to environment often occurred in a project. For this TransJakarta bus elevated lane construction project, it will be carried out by Jakarta Transportation Department.

Rp 2.5 Trillion Prepared for Elevated TransJakarta Bus Lane

“Jakarta Provincial Government is indeed planning to build a non-toll flyover for TransJakarta bus corridor XI. There is no land acquisition in this project because the roads used are existing roads,” stated Andriansyah when opening the discussion.

Later, the non-toll flyover will be located in the middle of existing roads, namely Jalan Jatinegara Barat, Jalan Jatinegara Timur, Jalan Bekasi Timur, Jalan Raya Bekasi, Jalan I Gusti Ngurah Rai, and Jalan Sumarno. It will also stretch in four sub-districts and 16 urban villages, such as Matraman Sub-District (Pisangan Baru), Pulogadung Sub-District (Pisangan Timur, Jatinegara Kaum, Cipinang urban villages), Jatinegara Sub-District (Rawabunga, Kampung Melayu, Balimester, Cipinang Muara, and Cipinang Besar Utara urban villages).

According to Head of Jakarta Roads and Bridges Public Works Department, Indrastuty R Okita, the project will begin in 2015 until 2017, and the budget allocated is Rp 4.8 trillion. The flyover will be as long as 17 kilometers, 10 meters tall from the ground surface, having two lanes and two directions, with pillars made of concretes and bored pile model foundations.

“This project uses design-build engineering, so the project is carried out by a contractor. We’re only providing studies, basic design, and general planning. On how it looks like, what the piles look like, its boxes, how many lanes, we design all of it,” he uttered.

When the project begins in 2015, it will be supervised by supervision consultant from a construction management. The supervision will be conducted thoroughly from design until implementation.
