After the trial of Electronic Road Pricing (ERP) system on Jalan Jenderal Sudirman went successful, the system will be tested again on Jalan Rasuna Said, South Jakarta, in upcoming September. At this time, a Norwegian company named Q-Free is building the ERP gate.

Q-Free has made foundations for ERP gate in front of Setiabudi Building on Jalan Rasuna Said. The trial will be carried out in September, on the lane from Mampang towards Menteng

“Q-Free has made foundations for ERP gate in front of Setiabudi Building on Jalan Rasuna Said. The trial will be carried out in September, on the lane from Mampang towards Menteng,” stated Head of Jakarta Transportation Department, Muhammad Akbar, Monday (8/11).

According to Akbar, ERP trial on Jalan Rasuna Said will be the same with the one on Jalan Jenderal Sudirman. The vehicles remain passing ERP gate using On Board Unit (OBU).

“This is only testing the device and seeing the condition of the traffic. We’re testing our device to find the right location in terms of free-frequency disturbances,” he uttered.

The results of these ERP trials will be evaluated by Jakarta Transportation Department. But at this time, there is no result yet from the trial done on Jalan Jenderal Sudirman, which started on July 15 and located in front of Panin Bank Building. In this location, the company carrying out the ERP trial is PT Kapsch.
