W. Kalimantan DPRD Learns About Tourism Management to DKI

West Kalimantan DPRD visits Jakarta Provincial Government today to share information related to tourism management.

If tourism in West Kalimantan is managed with a clear regulation, it will be very potential to be local revenue's asset

West Kalimantan DPRD Deputy Chairman, Suriansyah stated, Jakarta Government is more advanced in implementing tourism management regulation. Thus his side conducts a comparative study.

"West Kalimantan doesn't have flagship program for tourism. If tourism in West Kalimantan is managed with a clear regulation, it will be very potential to be local revenue's asset," he mentioned.

He admitted most tourist destinations in West Kalimantan are managed by third party so there is no retribution for regional government.

"Result of today's comparative study will be coordinated with Tourism Dept. Thus it can be used to explore tourism potentials in West Kalimantan," he conveyed.

Jakarta Tourism and Culture Dept.'s Regulation Section Head, Jehezekiel explained, Jakarta Government has owned a clear legal basis regarding management, development, and sharing method with tourism management, including culinary entrepreneurs, hotels, and entertainment venues.

"We give input to them about tips to manage tourism as one source of local revenue," he mentioned.
