Seawater Reverse Osmosis for Clean Water Solutions in Jakarta

All this time, we can easily find some rivers in Jakarta are highly polluted, moreover there are still many people who need clean water for daily needs. 

Each island should have at least three units

To solve it, City Council (DPRD) is committed to intensify the construction of the Seawater Reverse Osmosis (SWRO) facility in Seribu Islands, to convert sea water into fresh water.

Next Year, 8 SWROs in Seribu Islands Developed

"Each island should have at least three units," said City Council (DPRD)'s Commission D Secretary, Pandapotan Sinaga, at City Council building, Thursday (1/10).

Aside that he approved budget proposals filed by Jakarta Water Resources Department in 2019 City Budget (APBD) amounting to Rp 36 billion. It will be allocated to build SWROs on Kelapa Dua, Panggang, Payung, and Pramuka islands.

"This project must be executed. Yet it should also be accompanied by construction of waste water treatment plant (IPAL)," he stated.
