Tackling Dengue Fever, Cilandak Holds Kampung Bebas Jentik Competition

This March, Cilandak Sub-district, South Jakarta is about to hold Kampung Bebas Jentik (KBJ) competition. Residents of each urban villages compete to get rid mosquito larvae and make their environment clean. By this way, residents are encouraged to carry out a mass mosquito nest eradication (PSN) movement.

This year, its assessment will start in March

Cilandak Sub-district Head, Tomy Fudihartono expects this event to increase residents participation in tackling dengue fever.

"KBJ program has been set in Sub-district Head Decree since 2017. It is one of sub-district's innovations. This year, its assessment will start in March," he said, Saturday (2/9).

West Jakarta Encourages Residents to Participate in Preventing Dengue Fever

In this competition, each urban villages should send two RWs that has dengue fever case to be their representatives. Later on, juries will assess those RWs based on certain criteria, including their innovation.

"We hold this competition every three months. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd winners will get prize in form of money for coaching needs and certificate," he mentioned.
