In order to anticipate fire incident, West Jakarta government monitors illegal electricity connection in some settlements this week. Those are in RW 03 and 04 of Glodok Urban Village, Taman Sari Sub-district; Cengkareng Barat Urban Village, Cengkareng Sub-district; and Sukabumi Selatan Urban Village, Kebon Jeruk Sub-district.

West Jakarta Assistant, Denny Ramdani said this monitoring involves all institutions such as PLN, police, local government to anticipate fire incident that could be happened due to short circuit.

"Our focus is to monitor electricity connection continuously, especially in densely populated settlements and business locations thus fire caused by short circuit could be anticipated," he asserted, Wednesday (2/13).

There are sanctions for anyone who connects electricity illegally in form of fine and power outage.

"If the perpetrators are still illegally connect electricity after being fined or power outage, we will take them to the police," he mentioned.

His side has instructed all RT and RW heads in West Jakarta to monitor and report people or even settlements who have connected their electricity illegally.
