Anies Scored in MH Thamrin Friendly Match

Jakarta Governor, Anies Baswedan, succeed to score a goal in a soccer match, which is a series of the Mohammad Husni (MH) Thamrin's 125th anniversary Festival.

Jakarta Provincial Government fully supports the festival initiated by our Betawi Association

Anies was in a team with City Secretary, Saefullah and residents against the Persija Oldstar Team.

He felt grateful to be able to play in the field built by MH Thamrin and became the forerunner of the establishment of the Persija football team in Jakarta.

"Alhamdulillah, this morning we hold soccer match in the VIJ field," he expressed, at the VIJ field, Jalan Petojo VI, Cideng Urban Village, Gambir, Central Jakarta, Saturday (2/16).

He explained that MH Thamrin as a National Hero was not only instrumental in fighting for independence, but also gave a big contribution and service for his attention in the field of soccer.

"Therefore, Jakarta Provincial Government fully supports the festival initiated by our Betawi Association," he stated.
