Dispusip Continues to Improve Literacy Rate in Jakarta

We cooperate with communities and business entities to encourage people to love reading

Jakarta Library and Archive Department (Dispusip) Head, Wahyu Haryadi is committed to improve Jakartans' literacy skills by encouraging people to read.

In order to realize it, his side provides reading facilities, such as Reading Corner, to facilitate people in accessing book to read. Reading Corner facility is now provided in parks, RPTRAs, hospitals, and traditional market.

Various Books Provided at Cempaka Literacy Park

"We cooperate with communities and business entities to encourage people to love reading," he said after giving his speech as the keynote speaker in a workshop themed 'Government and Communities to Build Synergy for Strengthening National Literacy' at Balai Pusataka Building, Matraman, East Jakarta, this Sunday (2/24).

According to him, government should build a good cooperation with various sides, including Forum Lingkar who initiates this workshop, to encourage more people to love reading and improve literacy rate in Jakarta.

"We hope that people can gain more knowledge and skills from reading our books collection," he conveyed.
