City to Form Dutch Heritage Buildings Certification Team

Jakarta Provincial Government will form a team to verify the ownership of Dutch heritage buildings and houses in the capital city. Based on the record, there are 1,281 Dutch heritage buildings spread in Jakarta.

“We will form a team to record the data of those buildings and houses to be certified,” stated City Secretary Saefullah, Monday (8/18).
The team will consist of Jakarta Public Housing and Government’s Buildings Department, Jakarta Finance Management Board (BPKD), and Jakarta National Land Agency (BPN). They will be formed sometime around this week and given time for only 1-2 months to finish the tasks.
2 Cultural Heritage Statues CleanedHead of Jakarta Public Housing and Government’s Buildings Department, Yonathan Pasodung, informed that the 1,281 Dutch heritage buildings spread in Jakarta have proposed Occupancy Permit (SIP) and owned by nine parties.
Those parties are Dutch Citizen Individual Fixed Objects Mastery Organizing Committee (62 units), Public Works Ministry (70 units), state companies including banks (35 units), private companies and insurance (86 units), cabinet presidium (53 units), foundations and churches (23 units), individuals (429 units), municipals (10 units), unknown and unregistered (564 units).
“We’ll record the data of unknown and unregistered buildings to know their owners. Those buildings could have been owned by municipals, individuals, or others,” he uttered.
Meanwhile, Head of Jakarta BPN Land Rights and Land Registration Division, Andi Tenrisau, said that his party is ready to help Jakarta Provincial Government in recording the data of buildings and lands in Menteng, Central Jakarta, including about certification matters.
According to him, Dutch heritage buildings and houses owned by individuals and legal entities can be certified as long as they have business permit. Certification can be done as long as it is in line with Enactment of Government Regulation in Lieu of Law No. 3/1960 on Dutch Citizen Individual Fixed Objects Mastery.
