City Will Control Omprengan

Jakarta Provincial Government prohibits Uber lavish rental taxi company from operating in Jakarta due to no operational permit yet. In addition, city government will also control omprengan, private cars used as public transport but unlicensed.

The control will be conducted in phases. Later, all unlicensed (public transports) will be controlled

Jakarta Vice Governor Basuki T Purnama said the control will be conducted gradually. At this time, Jakarta Provincial Government is focusing on the operational of Uber Taxi.

“The control will be conducted in phases. Later, all unlicensed (public transports) will be controlled,” he uttered, Wednesday (8/20).

Transportation Dept: Uber Taxi is Illegal!

According to Basuki, now the city government deliberately turned a blind eye to the existence of omprengan in the capital city. Moreover, public transports in Jakarta are not yet ready to operate round a clock.

“For omprengan, deliberately turned a blind eye at the moment because our buses haven’t operating for 24-hour. If they have, those illegal and unlicensed public transports will be raided,” he stated.
