In this raid, officers also ticketed 49 other public transport drivers for the same reason as Jonathan. The raid was carried out by 30 joint personnel from East Jakarta Transportation Sub-Department, East Jakarta Police Traffic Unit, and Jakarta Military Command (Kodam Jaya) Sub-Garrison I.
According to Head of East Jakarta Transportation Sub-Department Supervision and Control Section, Budi Sugiyantoro, the raid was a routine done to discipline public transport drivers who violated rules.
“Those who violated are reprimanded, ticketed, and stopped their operational. But until now, we haven’t grounded any public transport. The raid location is also deliberately randomized to avoid leakage,” he stated.
