Uniform Sold, Public Minivan Driver Ticketed

Jonathan (38), driver of public minivan K06 (Kranggan-Kampung Rambutan), got angry when ticketed by East Jakarta Sub-Department during raid in Pinang Ranti Terminal, Wednesday (6/18). Jonathan was ticketed because he did not wear public transport driver uniform and also cannot show his driving license (SIM), vehicle roadworthiness test license (KIR), identity card (KTP), as well as driver’s ID card (KPP) and member ID card (KPA).

Because of not wearing uniform and not having driver’s documents, Jonathan must attend trial in East Jakarta State Court on upcoming June 27.

In this raid, officers also ticketed 49 other public transport drivers for the same reason as Jonathan. The raid was carried out by 30 joint personnel from East Jakarta Transportation Sub-Department, East Jakarta Police Traffic Unit, and Jakarta Military Command (Kodam Jaya) Sub-Garrison I.

According to Head of East Jakarta Transportation Sub-Department Supervision and Control Section, Budi Sugiyantoro, the raid was a routine done to discipline public transport drivers who violated rules.

“Those who violated are reprimanded, ticketed, and stopped their operational. But until now, we haven’t grounded any public transport. The raid location is also deliberately randomized to avoid leakage,” he stated.
