Enjoy Free Museums and Tourist Sites in Jakarta Tomorrow

Getting some culture at museums is a great way to spend your holiday. Getting in free is even better. Starting on Wednesday (4/17), admission to eight museums in Jakarta is free for those who use their voting rights. 

They (museum and tourist site) will be at 1 PM, which aims to give people opportunity to do voting

Those eight museums are Jakarta History Museum, Joang 45 Museum, MH Thamrin Museum, Inscription Museum, Art and Ceramic Museum, Wayang Museum, Textile Museum, and Maritime Museum.

This policy also applies to six tourist sites, namely National Monument (Monas), Betawi Cultural Neighborhood Setu Babakan, Planetarium, Onrust Archeology Park, Si Pitung Marunda House, and anjungan (platforms) at Taman Mini Indonesia Indah.

It listed in circular letter of Tourism and Culture Agency Number 137/2019 concerning Tourist Services Regarding Holidays during Presidential Election in 2019.

"They (museum and tourist site) will be at 1 PM, which aims to give people opportunity to do voting," he expressed Tuesday (4/16).

To enjoy them, visitors simply show their purple finger as evidence has cast a vote.

Even he instructed the management unit heads to conduct monitoring for the best services.

"We'll do anticipatory step to avoid long queue," he told.

Monas Management Unit Head, Munjirin expressed that visitor can enjoy the museum area, the independence room, up to the top of the Monas. 

"To enjoy the top of the Monas, we set at Rp 10,000 for adult, Rp 2,000 for children, and Rp 5,000 for student," he told.
