Foods Containing Hazardous Substances in West Jakarta Seized

The West Jakarta Health Sub-agency joint team found two types of food containing hazardous substances sold by traders on Jalan Baru Cengkareng Timur, precisely next to Cengkareng RSUD.

We bought all those dangerous foods to be destroyed

The team itself consisted of Health Sub-agency, Food and Drug Monitoring Agency (BPOM), and Health Laboratory.

From the raid, the team examined 20 types of food such as otak-otak (fish cake), tofu, dumplings, yellow noodles, iced selendang mayang, rice cake and so on.

"We bought all those dangerous foods to be destroyed," expressed West Jakarta Vice Mayor, M Zen, Thursday (5/16).

West Jakarta Health Sub-agency Head, Kristi Watini explained that her side also shared brochures to residents about the characteristics of foods that contain harmful substances.

"Foods that contain dyes or f ormalin can be seen from the color where it looks brighter and has a thicker texture," she told.
