Sarwo Handayani Rumored as the Next Jakarta Vice Governor

The name of Deputy Governor for Spatial Planning, Sarwo Handayani had spoken from the mouth of Jakarta Vice Governor Basuki 'Ahok' T Purnama as a suitable candidate to replace him. Nevertheless, its decision lies in political parties which will be proposed through Jakarta Legislative Council (DPRD).

I cannot say whether I am interested or not, I just obey my boss' command

Handayani pleaded not overly respond about her name in exchange of Jakarta Vice Governor. As a civil servant, she only obey commands of her boss (Basuki). "I cannot say whether I am interested or not, I just obey my boss' command," she expressed, at City Hall, Tuesday (8/26).

She acknowledged he was pleased with the flattery that ever posed by Basuki. This is because, he assessed, it shows that her career in Jakarta government appreciated. "I feel challenged and excited where my hard work appreciated. This is outstanding award for me. If I retired, I will do it with pleasure as my boss has appreciated my work," she revealed.

Vice Governor Election willl Be Discussed After DPRD Formation

She is now 60 years old, should have retired four years ago. However, her tenure as civil servant extended twice by Jakarta Governor.

First, it was extended by two years when Fauzi Bowo was still serving as Governor and then re-extended for two years by the current Jakarta Governor, Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo.

"Supposedly, I have retired this year. But it was extended twice. I hope Mr. Basuki would also extend it two years again. But it's up to him," she exclaimed.

As known, Basuki had named Sarwo Handayani to replace his post as Jakarta Vice Governor. All this time, Handayani's performance is deemed quite good.
