Post of Department Deputy Head will Be Abolished

In future, there will no longer department deputy head because of Public Works Department would be divided into Water Management Public Works Department and Road Public Works Department

Post of department deputy head that commonly found in big departments will be abolished in the new Jakarta Provincial Government's bureaucratic structure. It is one of the massive overhaul plan against officials under Jakarta government.

Jakarta Vice Governor, Basuki 'Ahok' T Purnama disclosed that a number of departments will be incorporated, yet there is also one department split into two in the bylaw on the Regional Apparatus Organizations (OPD). One of the departments that will be divided into two, namely Public Works Department split into Water Management Public Works Department and Road Public Works Department.

"In future, there will no longer department deputy head because of Public Works Department would be divided into Water Management Public Works Department and Road Public Works Department. Similar thing will also be imposed on Building Control and Spatial Planning Departments. Its incorporation cannot be realized yet," he explained, Wednesday (8/27).

The former Regent of East Belitung admitted a number of officials will be rotated, namely Head of Jakarta Public Works Department, Mangga Rudi Siahaan. But in future, he wants candidate for Head of Jakarta Public Works Department could answer about the work in his institution without avoidance.

"We're currently still looking for candidates from public works sector. This is our problem. Certainly all could run flawlessly," he asserted.
