Jakartans Encouraged to Implement Jakarta Bebas Sampah Movement

Jakarta Government encourages Jakartans to implement Jakarta Bebas Sampah movement that is to maintain Jakarta cleanliness by not littering.

Starting to do these small things, we can reduce waste volume in Jakarta

Jakarta Governor Deputy for Spatial Planning and Environment Division Division, Oswar Muadzing Mungkasa conveyed data from Jakarta Environment (LH) Department that Jakarta produces 7,000 tons of waste per day. Thus his side encourages Jakartans to sort the waste, exchange waste in waste bank, and make compost from organic waste.

Bapemperda Reviews Revision on Waste Management Regulation

"Starting to do these small things, we can reduce waste volume in Jakarta," he asserted at City Hall, Tuesday (7/9).

He assessed, piles of waste in Jakarta that haven't managed well can harm the environment and cause change of climate since it can produce methane gas that potential to cause global warming.

"Waste that isn't treated well can cause global warming. Thus it is important to reduce our waste from now on by implementing those small things start from ourselves," he stated.
