BPRD Still Optimistic to Achieve This Year's Tax Revenue Target

Jakarta Tax and Levy Agency (BPRD) is optimistic to achieve this year's tax revenue target Rp 44.1 trillion as mentioned in local government budget (APBD).

We are still optimistic to achieve our target

Jakarta BPRD Head, Faisal Syafruddin informed, tax revenue realization per July 2019 has reached around Rp 16.1 trillion or 34.2 percent from total target.

BPRD Continues to Increase Tax Realization

"We are still optimistic to achieve our target. If Vehicle-Ownership Transfer Fee (BBNKB) increase is postponed, we will find another way to achieve our target, such as optimizing other tax collection," he said, Wednesday (7/17).

He assessed, BBNKB increase can give a significant amount to city tax revenue. Thus he hopes Jakarta Council (DPRD) can ratify the revision of Regional Regulation (Perda) No. 9/2019 that regulates about BBNKB as soon as possible.

"We have proposed tariff adjustment for BBNKB from 10 percent into 12.5 percent in the Perda's revision. For example, if there are 600 thousand vehicles in Jakarta, city tax revenue only from BBNKB can reach Rp 100 billion per month. It's surely a huge amount," he mentioned.
