City Wins Satisfying Achievement at Jakarta Sister City Badminton Tournament 2019

Jakarta athletes successfully a satisfying achievement at the Jakarta Sister City Badminton Tournament 2019 event held at the Youth Center Arena in Pulogadung Sub-District, East Jakarta.

In the competition held on July 24-27, the Jakarta 1 won 1st place and Jakarta 2 won 2nd place, followed by Tangerang, Banten and West Java in third place. 

Meanwhile, teams from Seoul and Berlin have not been able to grab achievements in the event.

Jakarta Sister City Badminton Tournament 2019 Officially Opened

Jakarta Youth and Sport Agency Head, Achmad Firdaus said that they would be sent to a similar championship in Japan that falls in the upcoming September.

"Congratulations to the winners, and for those who have not succeeded, don't give up," he said, after giving medals and trophies, Saturday (7/27).

Seeing this, he wants the coached athletes under Student Sports Training Center (PPOP) and non-PPOP to continue to prepare themselves by increasing abilities.

"The challenges ahead will be even harder. Hopefully badminton can show even better achievements and our athletes can make a high contribution to the progress of badminton," he uttered.

He added that the same tournament will also be held in 2020 and can become an ongoing annual agenda.

"We'll do evaluation in order to make the qualified event in the future," he said.
