Anies Appreciates Jakarta Melayu Festival 2019

Jakarta Governor, Anies Baswedan appreciates 9th Jakarta Melayu Festival which is held to commemorate 74th Anniversary of Indonesian Independence Day using theme of 'Merengkuh Keadilan' or embrace the justice.

"This year's theme is suitable with independence which means to fight colonialism or injustice," he expressed, Tuesday (8/13).

In this chance, he also expects visitors, especially young generations, to support Melayu music since it is the pioneer of Indonesian music.

"Melayu music is an expression of traditional music that delivers great message. It is the lyric that makes Melayu music becomes special. Thank you for giving me a chance to be involved in this festival. I know its struggling and now this festival can be celebrated every year. Hopefully Jakarta Melayu Festival can be a memorable moment for all," he said.

For information, Jakarta Melayu Festival will be held at Ancol Beach City (ABC) Mall this Saturday (8/17) at 7 PM. People who are interested to enjoy this festival are only required to buy Taman Impian Jaya Ancol's entrance ticket.

This festival will be enlivened by Melayu singers performances such as Alfin Habib from D' Academy, Maya (KDI), Irsya (D’Academy), Yofi (KDI), Yoda (Idol), Glow Rossa, and Karina Christy accompanied by Anwar Fauzi dkk Band. It also shows special performance from Reggae singer, Toni Q. Rastafara.
