Jakarta Maritime, Agriculture and Food Security Agency is scheduled to kick off the 2019 Jakarta Food Festival at Pasaraya Department Store in Blok M, South Jakarta, which falls on August 14-16, 2019.

The event themed "Pangan Aman, Kite Aman" (food is safe, we are comfortable) is the first time held in Jakarta. It aims to disseminate information about the potential for food development in Jakarta, as well as encourage and drive a sustainable food business by maximizing the role of stakeholders.

"This is also a means of promoting food products made by our coached groups and a forum for business interaction and building synergy in developing the food business sector in Jakarta" expressed Jakarta Maritime, Agriculture and Food Security Agency Head, Darjamuni, Tuesday (8/13).

There will be 1,150 participants, consisting of food entrepreneurs under Integrated Entrepreneurship Development (PKT), central and local government agencies, BUMN and BUMD in the field of food, private companies, schools and colleges and coached groups and PKK.

He added that various activities will enliven the event, namely bazaar with various food products, healthy and nutritious food talk shows, milk drinking movement campaign for 500 elementary school students in Jakarta, food safety certificate handover, flower potential bimtek, daun potong and various processed animal husbandry competitions, creative menu contests and various cooking demonstrations from the chefs.

"Hopefully it can develop food security and improve the economy of food businesses in Jakarta," he said.
