Tabebuya Plantation in Central Jakarta for Better Air Quality

As reported before, there would be 2 million plants that included 500,000 trees and 1.5 million ornamental plants to be planted by 2022. To support it, the Central Jakarta Administration planted Tabebuya trees (genus Tabebuia) on the yard of local mayor's office on Monday (8/19).

This plant has the ability to absorb pollutants and can always grow in hot weather

Central Jakarta Mayor, Bayu Meghantara acknowledged that it was also to improve air quality in Jakarta, according to Gubernatorial Instruction No. 66/2019 on air quality control.

"This plant has the ability to absorb pollutants and can always grow in hot weather," he expressed.

Central Jakarta Forestry Sub-agency Head, Mila Ananda hoped that Tabebuya plant could create better air quality in Jakarta. 

"This city is a service city, so it must look beautiful," he stressed.
