293 Households in Sumur Batu and Serdang to Be Relocated

Hundreds of households living in Sumur Batu and Serdang urban villages, Kemayoran Sub-District, Central Jakarta, will be relocated because their settlements, which located along Item River, are affected by the construction project of inspection road towards Jalan Serdang III and Jalan Yos Sudarso.

According to the plan, 261 households in Sumur Batu Urban Village and 32 households in Serdang Urban Village will be relocated to Pulogebang, Komarudin, and Cipinang Besar Selatan flats.
Head of Kemayoran Sub-District, Iyan Sopiyan Hadi, said the residents are ready to support the project after they were given understanding and socialization. Thus, his party is continuously coordinating with Jakarta Public Housing and Government’s Buildings Department.

Meanwhile, Head of Serdang Urban Village, Rasikin, explained that the inspection road is built to overcome the density of vehicles passing in that area. He also confirmed that the residents are already agreed to be relocated as long as they are served and well-treated.
“The residents don’t mind. They support, as long as they are served well. For the compensation, it will be discussed later, but everything follows the applicable rules. We will also take the residents to see the flats they will live in,” he stated.
