Basuki Scolded DKI Bank President Director

Jakarta Vice Governor Basuki ‘Ahok’ T Purnama scolded Head of Jakarta Public Housing and Government’s Buildings Department Yonathan Pasodung and DKI Bank President Director Eko Budiwiyono during the launching of CMS virtual account card for flat rent payment at Marunda Flat, Cilincing, North Jakarta, Thursday (9/4). Basuki is disappointed because the card does not meet his expectations.

“I am disappointed with the card made by DKI Bank. I told them that I didn’t ask for a hotel card. I wanted ATM card with name, picture, and address. So, when I come to a particular (flat) unit and the occupant’s identity does not same with the data on the card, I can evict them,” he stated.

Even so, Basuki still handed out the virtual account card to Marunda Flat representative. But, he stressed DKI Bank to fix the card’s design because he does not want the facilities given by Jakarta Provincial Government being traded by irresponsible people.

“I am really disappointed with DKI Bank. This card only has numbers without picture. It is easily traded to other parties,” he said.

According to Basuki, identity notation on the card will ease in monitoring flat occupants. All this time, he still received reports on flat units being sold to people who are not supposed to live there.

“Previously, market price of Marunda Flat was Rp 15 million (per unit). Now, it is between Rp 50-60 million. So, if we relocated the residents from reservoirs to flats, they could just sell their units and return to (live on) reservoir bank,” he uttered.

Hearing Basuki’s rage, Head of Jakarta Public Housing and Government’s Buildings Department Yonathan Pasodung and DKI Bank President Director Eko Budiwiyono can only be still and nod their heads in the middle of hundreds of invited guests.

“We will change (the virtual account card) in accordance to Mr. Ahok’s instruction. On the card, we will insert identity and picture,” promised Budiwiyono.

For information, flat rent payment is still done manually by given the money to flat management. But later, in phases starting November, rent payment of all flats in Jakarta will be shifted to transfer from virtual account. For start, this system is scheduled to be imposed in Marunda Flat Cluster B.
