Jakarta-West Java Signed Agreement on SPAM

Jakarta Provincial Government and West Java Provincial Government signed an agreement on the development of Drinking Water Supply System (SPAM) using raw water from Jatiluhur Reservoir for Jakarta, Bekasi, and Karawang areas. With that, Jatiluhur SPAM development first phase will soon be started.

Actually, the needs in Jakarta are bigger, which is 16,000 liters per second. Now 5,000 (liters per second), later add 5,000 (liters per second), thus gradually (the needs) would be fulfilled

The agreement signing is attended by Public Works Minister Joko Kirmanto, Jakarta Governor Joko ‘Jokowi’ Widodo, West Java Governor Ahmad Heryawan, and representatives from Bekasi City Government, Bekasi City Government, and Karawang Regency Government.

In this occasion, Public Works Minister Joko Kirmanto uttered that this agreement is expected could meet the needs for drinking water in Bekasi, and Karawang for as much as 5,000 liters per second.

Clean Water Distribution in Kampung Sepatan Disrupted

Meanwhile, Jokowi does not give much comment on this agreement.

“It’s done, already complete,” he said briefly.
