Setu Babakan Conducts Gladi Resik for Its Anniversary

We want the whole series to run smoothly

The Setu Babakan Betawi Cultural Village Management Unit, Jagakarsa, South Jakarta is conducting a gladi resik (dress rehearsal) in order to optimize the celebration event of the Setu Babakan's 19th anniversary.

Dozens of performers have been seen busy since 7 AM in the Setu Babakan Zone A to perform the Gereget Nandak dance as a welcoming dance for the invitees.

Setu Babakan Betawi Cultural Village Technical Unit Sub-Division Head, Syaiful said Gereget Nandak dance is an ondel-ondel dance modified pairing between abang and mpok to show cheerfulness Betawian children.

"This is for the opening. We want the whole series to run smoothly," he expressed, Sunday (9/15).

To give the best performance, his party has involved the workers and artists who are active every day at the Setu Babakan.

"From cleaning service until security officer is also already on standby," he stressed.

Through this event, all levels of society are expected to participate in preserving the shared culture.

"And it is also hoped able to attract more local and foreign tourists to come here," he hoped.

As for the information, the Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan is planned to attend in the event.
