City-owned slaughterhouse PD Dharma Jaya applies semi-mechanical technology at the Cakung Slaughterhouse (RPH), East Jakarta.
PD Dharma Jaya Business Director, Mohamad Adam Ali Bhutto said that it is for efficient RPH function and cost leadership. Previously the system was a line system technology system.
Animal Slaughter Training Opened at Rawa Lele Poultry Slaughterhouse"Total cost for the line system is very expensive due to high electricity costs. It was previously used because of the high rate of slaughter of cattle between 700-1,000 animals per day. But its number decreased to 80 animals per day in line with the increase in the volume of imported meat and cattle slaughtering," he explained, Tuesday (9/17).
This engineering way is done in stages and involves customers to seek input thus they feel comfortable with such changes. It is targeted for completion this year.
"Thus far we have spent Rp 70 million of the total needed for engineering technology around Rp. 300 million until the end of this year," he expressed.
Currently the current slaughter room with line system is split into two, one into a smaller-sized system line room and one semi-mechanical slaughter room.
"One other line system is also split into two semi-mechanical slaughter rooms. So the total room becomes one line system and three semi-mechanical rooms," he said.
