Water Channel Construction on Jl. Raya Assyafi'iyah Targeted to Finish in December

Water channel construction along 1,143 meters along Jalan Raya Assyafi'iyah, RW 03 Cilangkap, Cipayung, East Jakarta is targeted to finish on December 15.

This channel is targeted to complete in December in order to anticipate inundation and flood in this area

Several parts have been installed with U-ditch concretes complete with its cover. While water channel on urban village office's yard has been excavated and installed with U-ditch. This channel will be one waterway with water channel on Jl. Assyafi'iyah. This channel will lead the water to Giri Kencana Reservoir at RW 06.

East Jakarta Water Resources Sub-department (SDA) Head, Santo conveyed, his side continues to accelerate water channel construction.

He informed, this channel is located on the west side of the road and lead the water to Giri Kencana Reservoir that is located on Jl. Giri Kencana and Jl. Pulo Harapan RW 06 Cilangkap. According to him, this road only has one water channel on the east side but it doesn't enough to hold the water when the rain falls.

"This channel is targeted to complete in December in order to anticipate inundation and flood in this area," he asserted, Tuesday (10/1).

He mentioned, its construction has reached around 3.5 percent from total length of the channel that will be made. In order to finish the construction on time, his side excavates area that will be used for the channel using backhoe tractor then installed it using 80 cm x 69 cm U-ditch concrete.

His problem during the construction is many big trees and utility cable network on the sidewalk, sometimes mini bridge that connects the road and settlement.

"In order to achive our target on time, we have coordinated with local residents and utility cable owners such as PT. PLN, PAM Jaya, Telkom, Forestry Sub-department, Transportation Department, East Jakarta Traffic Region Unit, and other related unit," he conveyed.
