City Intensifies SMAB Socialization in Schools

Jakarta Provincial Government intensifies Sekolah Madrasah Aman Bencana (SMAB) or Disaster Safe Madrasah School socialization in all Jakarta regions.

Students will be educated to be more responsive in handling disasters

Jakarta Secretary, Saefullah mentioned, SMAB socialization is disaster response demonstration and simulation. It will be given for students from elementary to senior high school.

"If I'm not mistaken, there are 50 schools that have cooperated with Jakarta Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) related to this program. Students will be educated to be more responsive in handling disasters such as fire, flood, and earthquake," he conveyed, Tuesday (10/1).

Disaster Response Status Set for Penjaringan Fire Victims

On October 3-4, Jakarta BPBD Head, Subejo mentioned, his side will hold SMAB socialization in Tidung Island, Thousand Islands. In this socialization, his side will socialize students how to find safe assembly point when there is earthquake, stay away from glass, and turn off electricity inside the house when there is flood.

"After holding socialization, we hope students can be more responsive to disaster as early as possible," he conveyed.
