LRT Phase 2 Project is Still Under the Stage of Basic Design Development

We plan to do a groundbreaking in 2020

The development project for the second phase of the LRT that connects with Kelapa Gading LRT Station with Jakarta International Statium (JIS) area in Tanjung Priok and Velodrome Station, Rawamangun Station and Manggarai Station is still in the stage of feasibility study and preparation of basic design.

PT Jakarta Propertindo Deputy Project Director Wilman Sidjabat said the work is started from JIS - Kelapa Gading up to eight kilometers length and Manggarai - Velodrome is up to six kilometers length. Thus total length of the LRT track would be 20 kilometers.

"We plan to do a groundbreaking in 2020. In the first semester, we focused on preliminary work and now we have entered the design and feasibility study, so we must be very careful," he expressed, Tuesday (10/1).

As for the construction plan towards Manggarai, the PT LRT Jakarta and PT Jakpro are still coordinating with the Ministry of Transportation. He said, its construction was still in a feasibility study and there would be land acquisition.

"We will execute this project next year and will operate in 2022. Then the Manggarai - Velodrome will start in 2021 and will operate in 2024," he stated.
