Land Procurement for RTH, Forestry Absorbs 72.37 Percent from Budget

Budget absorption in Jakarta Forestry Department related to land procurement for green open spaces (RTH) reaches 72.37 percent or Rp 1.1 trillion from total budget allocation of Rp 1.5 trillion.

Until October 3, we receive 1.144 requests from residents who want to sell their lands to Jakarta Government for RTH

Jakarta Forestry Department's Land Procurement Unit Head, Dirja Kusuma stated, land procurement will be used to build 3 types of RTH. Those are park, urban forest, and public cemetery.

"It is important to procure land in order to add more RTHs in Jakarta," he asserted, Monday (10/7).

Budget for RTH Procurement Allocated at Rp 1.5 Trillion

According to him, his side has targeted and realized different sizes of land for RTH. For park, his side has obtained 16.8 hectares which exceeds the target of 12.5 hectares.

Meanwhile for urban forest, his side has obtained 1.6 hectares from target 7.5 hectares and obtained 1.3 hectares for public cemetery from target 3 hectares.

"Until October 3, we receive 1.144 requests from residents who want to sell their lands to Jakarta Government for RTH. Around 500 requests have been followed up by conducting survey to the location," he explained.

According to him, survey team will see whether the land is proper or not to be RTH. More importantly, his side needs to ensure land ownership validity.

"We usually turn the land into park if the land is located in the center of settlements and potential to give benefits to its surrounding. It is important to be located in the center because it will be used as a place to gather and interact," he said.

After procurement process is complete, his side will continue to discuss it further with related departments related to Park, Lane, Public Cemetery, and Forestry to determine its use. Later, those departments will plan for its construction technically.

"We only have authority for procuring land with size from 250 meters until 5 hectares," he closed.
