Transjakarta to Provide 10 Bicycle Parking Areas Near Bus Shelters

PT. Transjakarta plans to provide 10 bicycle parking areas near bus shelter in order to encourage more people using bicycle as well as reducing emission gas and traffic jam in Jakarta.
It will be placed in shelters that connect with bicycle lane 1, 2, and 3 which are provided by Jakarta Provincial Government
PT. Transjakarta Corporate Secretary and Public Relation Division Head, Nadia Diposanjoyo stated, currently her side surveys the locations for those bicycle parking areas.
"It will be placed in shelters that connect with bicycle lane 1, 2, and 3 which are provided by Jakarta Provincial Government," she explained, Sunday (10/13).
Transjakarta Diverts Several Routes TodayBesides bicycle parking area, her side also plans to design area inside the bus that will be used for passengers to put their bicycle without interfering other passengers.
"We are still reviewing area where passengers with bicycle can put their bicycle while using public transportation," she added.
Her side is currently studying various bicycle track designs to ensure it doesn't block driver's view and prioritizes both passengers and other road users' safety and comfort.
Related to Jakarta Government's plan to provide bike sharing, she mentioned that her side coordinates with related institution to implement the concept.
"The point is, we support government's program," she asserted.
