Jakarta Social Department Distributes 39,913 KLJs for Elderly People

Jakarta Social Department (Dinsos) plans to distribute 107,573 Jakarta Elderly Cards (KLJ)s in 2018-2022 period in accordance with Jakarta Provincial Government's Medium-Term Regional Development Plan (RPJMD)

Our target for this year is to distribute 40,419 KLJs

Jakarta Dinsos Head, Irmansyah mentioned, his side has distributed 14,520 KLJs in 2018. While in this year, his side is targeting to distribute 40,419 KLJs.

"Our target for this year is to distribute 40,419 KLJs. We have distributed 39,913 KLJs but the remaining 506 KLJs are on process or the recipient has passed away," he mentioned, Monday (10/14).

Here are Procedures to Apply KLJ and KPDJ in Urban Village

Furthermore, his side is targeting to distribute KLJs to 77,524 elderly in 2020; 92,533 elderly in 2021; and 107,573 elderly in 2022.

"KLJ is given to provide financial assistance for elderly to fulfill their daily necesities and improve their welfare," he explained.

According to him, KLJ is provided for elderly aged 60 years and over who live in Jakarta and don't have regular income or poor.

"Also for elderly who are sick for years or can just lay in bed, and those who are psychologically and socially displaced," he added.

So far, he continued, KLJ recipient data is taken from Integrated Poor Database Handling Program (BDT PPFM) and it has been through verification and validation process in Jakarta Social Department's Social Security Data and Information Center (Pusdatin Jamsos).

"For elderly who haven't registered but included in poor criteria, can register themselves at urban village office," he informed.

His side also provides 801 social assistance officers in all urban villages in Jakarta. Their job is to list underprivileged people by conducting initial registration, identification, verification, and validation.

"In collecting the data, our personnel usually conduct door-to-door service together with dasa wisma cadres, RT, RW, and LMK," he asserted.
