With various efforts and collaboration with the community, in the past year, the number of victims has decreased significantly according to the data in 2018 until the end of September released by the UPT P2TP2A.

Efforts to prevent and minimize violence against women and children are outlined in the Jakarta mid-term regional development plan (RPJMD) and Gubernatorial Regulation number 48/2018 on safe houses for children and women victims of violence.
Safe houses is temporary or new dwellings which are kept confidential according to standards based on applicable regulations. It is intended for women and children victims of violence.
Last year, the city already has 2 units and 4 units in this year. They have served 39 victims. They are also designed in a condition of strict supervision and guarding for 24 hours.
Besides police and security officers, other officers are also alerted such as, professional social workers, clinical psychologists, counselors, assistance officers until social assistance officers.
Aside that, the city also has formed the Jakarta Children's Forum which is engaged in the protection of women and children in 19 complaint posts set up on the yards of the RPTRA and flat tower. The existence has increased, which were previously spread in only 12 locations. Each post has three officers, namely victim's companion, psychologist, and paralegal.

These services are available for free in 6 RSUDs, namely Tarakan Hospital, Koja Hospital, Pasar Minggu Hospital, Adhyaksa Hospital, Pasar Rebo Hospital and Duren Sawit Hospital.
Each PPT provides forensic doctors, psychologists and psychiatrists. Until the end of this year, it is targeted that there will be 8 PPTs available at the RSUDs and private hospitals in Jakarta.
To develop a climate of citizen engagement to build a fast and responsive reporting system, he has also formalized the Jakarta Aman app.
Jakarta Aman is a system that demands connectivity, either between citizens or authorities concerned with security and citizens with their own environment.
It is formulated based on a memorandum of cooperation with the Polda Metro Jaya according to the Standard Operational Procedure (SOP) in preventing and handling cases of violence against children and women in Jakarta.
So every time there is a case report, the app will be connected to the Polda Metro Jaya.
By so, the city won the title of Pioneer of the Child-Friendly Province in 2019 from the Ministry of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection, the Regional Government of the Most Caring for Children in the 2019 KPAI Award and Child-Friendly City in 2019 from the international save the children non-government organizations (NGOs).
This award triggered the city performance to be more concerned with women and children, not only in the aspect of preventing and handling violence but also to provide fulfillment of basic rights.
