Suspension Bridge above KBB River Repaired

The suspension bridge above West Flood Canal (KBB) River, Grogol, West Jakarta, which has been damaged and nearly collapsed since three months ago, is now repaired by Jakarta Public Works Department.

Based on beritajakarta.com observations, 20 workers are deployed to repair the bridge that connects Duripulo Urban Village, Central Jakarta, with Grogol area, West Jakarta.

“The work has been started since two weeks ago. We allocated budget as much as Rp 600 million to repair the bridge,” stated Head of Jakarta Public Works Department Roads and Bridges Maintenance Section, Irfandiaz, Wednesday (9/10).

Residents Prohibited to Pass on Setiakawan Suspension Bridge

According to him, the repair work would need at least three to four weeks because the bridge will be demolished. Later, the foundation of the bridge will be using steel plates, so the people who pass on it would feel safe and comfortable.

“The bridge will also be heightened for one meter, so trashes would not get stuck on it during rainy season,” added Irfandiaz.
