Beware of Pothole at Goro Bridge

To avoid accident that could harm motorists passing the road, residents are initiatively plant tree on potholed road of Goro Bridge, North Jakarta. A Bridge which connects Jalan Perintis with Jalan Pelepah Raya, Kelapa Gading Barat have pothole with one meter diameter.

It should be repaired immediately. They should not have to wait for fatal accident to repair it

All this time, Jalan Pelepah Raya is an alternative road to Jalan Boulevard Barat, Kelapa Gading which relatively crowded by many motorists. The vehicles density is increasing during rush hours. The existence of pothole is feared can endanger motorist, because bridge’s lighting is very minimum at night.

From beritajakarta.com observation, Monday (6/2), the pothole is right in the middle of the road with one meter diameter and 30 centimeters depth. Even there is its frame seen on some parts of the pothole.

Alung (40), a driver of U 04 public transportation who usually parking haphazardly to get passenger near the location said, the open wide pothole had been patched before.

“It was already repaired in early year. But because many big trucks are often crossing the road, the pothole at the same location appear again,” Alung said.

According to Alung, there were some motorists crashed because of fallen to the pothole. They were usually crashed at night because of its minimum light.

“ It should be repaired immediately. They should not have to wait for fatal accident to repair it ,” he added.

Kelapa Gading Sub-District Head, Jupan Royter clarified, he did not know of the pothole. But he promised will immediately coordinated to North Jakarta Roads Public Works Sub-Dept to repair the pothole.

“I will contact Public Works sub-department to have coordination. I hope the pothole can be repaired immediately,” Royter asserted.

Meanwhile, Roads and Bridges Maintenance Head Section of North Jakarta Public Works Department, Sugoto Sinaga revealed, he will immediately conduct review to the location. Then he will immediately repair it.

“Before there is a victim on the location, we will immediately repair the road with patching it. And I hope for residents to be patient,” he requested.
