Commission A: Smart City must Be Implemented Well

The Jakarta Legislative Council (DPRD)'s Commission A wants the Smart City concept to be implemented properly in Jakarta during the discussion of the 2020 budget priorities and preliminary threshold (KUA-PPAS) along with Jakarta Communication, Information and Statistics Agency.

They (Smart City) certainly must be a priority

The Commission A Chairman Mujiyono disclosed that Smart City is an idea, program and goal that cannot be underestimated.

"They (Smart City) certainly must be a priority since technology keeps developing very rapidly" he expressed, at Jakarta Council Building, Wednesday (10/30).

Therefore his party welcomed the Communication, Information and Statistics Agency (Diskominfotik) in collaborating and partnering with digital companies engaged in their respective fields of work to help solve problems in Jakarta.

"The use of the latest technology and innovation must continue, including partnering with digital companies. Don't let us miss and compete with other major cities in the world," he asserted.

He added, its application could also be optimized to increase local income, like from tax revenue.

"Nowadays, the digital era has an online system. Just how we can use it as needed," he exclaimed.

Jakarta Diskominfotik Head Atika Nur Rahmania expressed the strategy to develop Jakarta Smart City is based on several things, one of them is collaboration.

Her agency had collaborated by utilizing the digital ecosystem in the context of realizing Jakarta as City 4.0.

"We're working with two to three decacorns, five unicorns and many startups. We call this the digital ecosystem of collaboration with Jakarta Smart City. We also eye to Data Driven Policy and improve IT-based community services is our vision going forward," she explained.

She added as many as 7,700 CCTVs in Jakarta were integrated with the Jakarta Smart City portal. This is to reach Jakarta as a city that is not only smart city but also safe city.

That is why her agency planned to prepare a storage that can record through CCTV for 30 days.

Moreover this device is developed in conjunction with artificial intelligence or Artificial Intelligence (AI) and also Big Data.

"It is possible to support the optimization of tax revenue," she explained.

She also collaborated with financial technology (Fintech) to facilitate the payment of vehicle tax simply through mobile devices. These are the potentials that can be done through the existing technological ecosystem.
