50 Hydroponic Shelves will Be Distributed to Eight Sub-districts in Central Jakarta

The Central Jakarta Maritime, Agriculture and Food Security Sub-agency is going to distribute 50 hydroponic shelves to eight sub-districts in the third week of November.
It purposes to develop urban farming in the community and provide hydroponic farming skills.

Those shelves will be distributed to the child-friendly playgrounds (RPTRA), schools, farmer groups and RWs, which develop urban farming in such sub-districts.
"Each shelve has a capacity of 72 holes. Aside that we also give them rock wools, pump machines and seeds," he explained.
Even farming training would also be given with hydroponic methods, strating from seeding and maintenance up to harvesting.
"About vegetable seeds, we will distribute spinach, kale, lettuce, and pakcoy. Hopefully this urban farming can support food security in Central Jakarta," he uttered.
