Breakwater Installation Work in Lancang Island Reaches 60 Percent

Thousand Islands Water Resources (SDA) Sub-department's work in installing breakwater as long as 150 meters along the north coast of Lancang Island, RT 01/03, Pari Island Urban Village, South Thousand Islands is 60 percent complete.

Thousand Islands SDA Sub-department Head, Mustajab explained, breakwater is important to reduce coastal erosion and protect the harbor from water waves.

"Breakwater is used to protect the island from erosion and water waves when west and east wind blows," he mentioned Thursday (11/7).

Eleven Breakwater Embankments on Residential Islands Installed

According to him, this work has been done since September by 17 SDA Sub-department personnel and its budget is included in massive cube material procurement for 11 residential islands Rp 9.3 billion.

"I hope it can be completed in December," he expressed.
