Three years away, the tenure of Jakarta Vice Governor, Basuki 'Ahok' T Purnama will be over soon and then become the number one in Jakarta. Nevertheless, Basuki prefers to focus on work and overcome issues in the capital, ranging from health until infrastructure sectors.
"If you asked me to choose one, I choose to overcome health issues. That's why I held a meeting with all general hospitals, in which I would transform them into luxury hospital," said Ahok, at City Hall, Thursday (9/11).
Ahok: I Don't Want to Be Controlled by DPRD!Hence, he stated, doctors will receive more welfare as they would get a high salary. Even, he is going to recruit private doctors to serve Jakarta citizens. By doing so, patients could be served well.
"I don't want to hear or see anymore doctors moved because of lack of salary, thus salary system should be set. If it is needed, private doctors will be recruited," he stressed.
He continued, the public will also be educated to use the National Health Insurance (JKN) through the Social Security Management Agency (BPJS). Considering the program has also been implemented nationally, he hopes they will take advantage of such facility as possible.
"It should be educating people to be able to buy BPJS independently. So don't let arrogant people come to class I, thought he had some money, but in fact they don't have. Just tell them, you have to buy BPJS if do not have money," he stressed.
Then in infrastructure sector, Basuki will boost the performance of the Public Works Department. They would be assigned to build a road inspection in the capital. Besides minimizing flooding, can also minimize traffic congestion. He plans to speed up development of six inner-city toll roads and is targeted to finish prior to 2018 Asian Games.
In Transportation sector, he would optimize the procurement of Transjakarta bus. This is because, when it was launched in 2004, Jakarta only has 700 units, 200 out of them are unworthy. Ideally, its amount must be 1,300 units in order to maximally serve passengers in the existing 12 corridors.
Ahok also instructs PT Transjakarta to purchase 850 Transjakarta buses within the next two years. The purchased buses must have international standards and not easily corroded. "This morning, I tell PT Transjakarta and operator if I only have three years and they encourage them to work faster," he stated.
