The Jakarta Industry and Energy Department Acting Head Ricki Marojahan Mulia says as many as 280,000 streetlights are targeted to be installed in Jakarta this year.

So far we have installed 256,000 streetlights

It is done because the ideal of lighting in Jakarta should be 312,000 streetlights.

"So far we have installed 256,000 streetlights, but we're optimistic our target could be realized by the end of this year," he expressed, Monday (11/11).

Unfortunately, fund for the rest installation was not met so it will continue in the 2020 budget.

"We prioritize it on places where lighting is weak, such as on Jalan Otista Raya and Jalan Matraman Raya," he explained.

This is very important. Besides facilitating citizens in their activities, it can also minimize the potential for criminal acts.

"Moreover we also continue to make improvements, from conventional models to using LED lamps," he closed.
