Since February until today, West Jakarta Maritime Agriculture and Food Tenacity (KPKP) Sub-department has vaccinated 771 animals that can transmit rabies (HPR).
There are 222 dogs, 534 cats, 12 civets, and 3 monkeys
Kembangan KPKP Unit Head, Ellita Teresia explained, her side is routinely giving rabies vaccine to pets and animals that can transmit rabies in six urban villages. It is done to maintain Jakarta's status as the city free from rabies since 2004.
"This year, our target is to vaccine 555 animals, but we exceed the target by vaccinating 771 animals. There are 222 dogs, 534 cats, 12 civets, and 3 monkeys," she informed, Monday (11/18).

Before vaccinating the animals, her side usually informs the urban village heads through notification letter to tell their residents who have pets to get free vaccination.
