Sebira Island People Support PLTS Development Plan

Residents living on Sebira Island, Harapan Island Urban Village, North Thousand Islands are positively welcoming the PLN's plan to develop a solar power plant (PLTS) powered 400 kilowatts with a capacity of 800 kilowatts on Sebira Island in early 2020. 

Our hope is it can further enhance economic growth and development progress

Sebira Island Public Figure Ali Kurniawan said his side supports the plan for the advancement and ease of access to the electrical energy of Sebira Island residents.

"Our hope is it can further enhance economic growth and development progress," he expressed, Wednesday (11/27).

He also hoped that locals are also given knowledge and supervision related to the maintenance and use of PLTS.

Jakarta Raya PLN's Mains Distribution Unit General Manager Ikhsan Asaad added, to develop it, his side has aside Rp 30 billion.

It is expected to be able to replace the diesel power plant (PLTD), which is currently in use thus saving more on fuel and maintenance.

"We target to operate it in the forthcoming March," he hoped.
