200 Thousand Fingerlings Released at Cilangkap Agrotourism Reservoir

East Jakarta Mayor, Muhammad Anwar released 200 thousand fingerlings on reservoir that is located at Cilangkap Agrotourism, Cipayung.

After these fish are ready to be harvested, people who live near the reservoir can fish it for consumption

"After these fish are ready to be harvested, people who live near the reservoir can fish it for consumption. It is one of our efforts to improve residents' nutrition intake," he mentioned, Thursday (11/28).

According to him, locals should wait around 3-4 months to fish in order to get bigger fish with higher nutrition.

Meanwhile, East Jakarta KPKP Sub-department's Fishery Section Head, Supriadi explained, those 200 fingerlings consist of GIFT (Genetic Improvement of Farmed Tilapia) fish and common carp which are taken from Fingerlings Center of Jakarta Maritime Agriculture and Food Security (KPKP) Department in Kalideres, West Jakarta.

"Besides of high nutrition, these types of fish can live longer in freshwater such as in reservoir, lake, retention basin, or river," he conveyed.
