Thousand Islands Receives Norway Delegation Visit

Thousand Islands Regency received the visit from Norway Embassy representatives who want to cooperate in handling plastic waste from waste collecting to processing.

Waste can be processed using modern incinerator and its residual combustion can be used to produce clean water

In this chance, Thousand Islands Regent, Husein Murad welcomed Norway delegations visit and their offer to cooperate in managing waste.

"Generally, I like it. Because there is new advanced technology that can be used to manage waste from collecting it on the waters until processing it," he conveyed, Monday (12/2).

According to him, this technology could help processing waste more efficient and faster. Because waste on the waters and beach could be collected using modern net and machines.

"Waste can be processed using modern incinerator and its residual combustion can be used to produce clean water," he mentioned.

Meanwhile, Commercial Counselor of Norway Embassy, Fredrik Bjerke Abdelmaguid stated that his side would test the device offered on Pramuka Island as a pilot.

"If this test is successful within a year, we will grant this device to Thousand Islands to overcome their sea waste," he asserted.
