"For initial stage, we only give it to new vehicles. But in the future, this system will be also implemented for old vehicles that have passed KIR test," he conveyed, Tuesday (12/3).

This system is more effective and easier to use. Because all vehicle information are electronically stored and can be accessed through Cek KIR application for online or near file communication (NFC) for offline.

"Smart card is firstly implemented in Pulogadung UP PKB. But next year it will be implemented in all motor vehicle testing locations in Jakarta," he asserted.

According to him, every vehicle that has been tested will get vehicle technical certificate, hologram stickers with barcode and test number. The sticker will be placed from the underside of vehicle windshield area in order to facilitate officers conducting raids.
