City Gets Additional 14 Dump Trucks from Oil Companies

These dump trucks are handed out symbolically by Indonesian Petroleum Association President Director Lukman Ahmad Mahfud to Jakarta Vice Governor Basuki ‘Ahok’ T Purnama at City Hall, Thursday (9/18).

We decided to donate 14 dump trucks in the size of six cubic meters and maintenance (service) for a year

“We met Mr. Jokowi in last January when great flood hit Jakarta. We talked on how and what we can donate. We heard appeal from Mr. Ahok that companies were expected to donate dump trucks. That’s why we decided to donate 14 dump trucks in the size of six cubic meters and maintenance (service) for a year. Hopefully what we donated could be accepted well,” uttered Mahfud.

“Yes, I thanked Indonesian Petroleum Association for willing to donate dump trucks. We are really in short of dump trucks,” he said.

Meanwhile, Deputy Head of Jakarta Cleanliness Department, Isnawa Adji, informed that at this time the total of dump trucks donated by various parties is reaching 74 trucks. However, those dump trucks cannot operate instantly because they must go through assets recording process in Jakarta Finance Management Board (BPKD), truck’s worthiness, and operational document processing, which all needs time for more than a month.

After the process in BPKD finished, Jakarta Cleanliness Department will check all trucks’ completeness and facilities, such as dirty water filter, et cetera. If there were parts missing, the department will add them.

“Then, the dump trucks will be spread to sub-districts, sub-departments, water channels, rivers, and reservoirs,” explained Adji.

For information, private companies which have been kind enough to donate dump trucks to Jakarta Provincial Government are Taipei Economic and Trade Office (TETO) that donated 2 dump trucks, PT Gaya Makmur Mobilindo donated 2 dump trucks, Mandiri Bank donated 3 dump trucks, Indonesia-Tionghoa Entrepreneurs Association donated 53 dump trucks, and lastly the Indonesian Petroleum Association that just donated 14 dump trucks.
