5,150 Joint Personnel Clean Ciliwung River

As many as 5,150 joint personnel from Jakarta Cleanliness Department and TNI Special Troops Command (Kopassus) clean Ciliwung River starting from behind Kopassus Headquarter in Cijantung until to Rindam Jaya Shooting Court in Condet, East Jakarta. This activity is held to commemorate TNI’s 69th anniversary.

“The personnel are deployed to clean the trashes scattered on the river as well as riverbank. This activity is conducted to increase synergy between TNI and Jakarta Provincial Government as well as to increase TNI’s oneness with the citizens,” stated Kopassus Commandant General May. Gen. Agus Sutomo, Thursday (9/18).

By 15 dump trucks, the trashes collected from the river and riverbank were then transported to Bantar Gebang Integrated Waste Treatment Area (TPST), Bekasi. Besides dump trucks, Jakarta Cleanliness Department also deployed 50 rubber boats, 50 trash carriages, 500 sand bags, 1,000 shovels, and other cleaning equipment.

Ciliwung River will Be Installed with Sheet Pile

In that occasion, East Jakarta Mayor, HR Krisdianto, asks the citizens to help maintaining Ciliwung River and keeping it clean.

“At least don’t throw trash haphazardly into the river,” he urged.
