Jokowi: Procurement of Transjakarta Bus Already Good

Jakarta Governor, Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo handed over the case of procurement of Transjakarta bus and Integrated City Busway (BKTB) involving former Head of Jakarta Transportation Department, Udar Pristono, to the authorities in accordance with applicable rules. He assessed, its procurement is in conformity with the procedure due to it has involved the Development and Finance Surveillance Agency (BPKP) as supervisor.

"The arrest of Mr. Pristono has been handed over to the authorities.This was indeed their obligation," stated Jokowi, at City Hall, Thursday (9/18).

He added that such case is caused by incompatible bus procurement procedures in 2013. Considering, its purchased item is not in accordance with his instruction.

"For instance, I ask you to buy bar soap, but you buy cream soap, how?," he asked.

Even, he assessed system of Transjakarta bus procurement is deemed good, because his party has asked for help from BPKP to oversee the process of bus procurement and is already done since the beginning.

"The system is good. We also have asked for help from BPKP to oversee and monitor the bus procurement," he expressed.

He exclaimed the fund for purchase of Transjakarta bus and BKTB in 2013 is not yet paid off to the vendor. From Rp 3 trillion, the city administration only paid Rp 500 billion because there was found corruption case.  

"We have not paid off the purchase of Transjakarta bus and BKTB in 2013," he finished.
